Catherine Dobel, 100, of Whitehall, died at home Aug. 4, 2023. She was the wife of the late John Dobel.

Born and raised in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Paraska (Panchak) Chimarys.

She worked for many years at the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was in the Apostleship of Prayer, the Rosary Guild and Ladies Sodality. She also made pierogies at the church.

She was a member of the Friendly Fifties.

She is survived by a son, Vaughn and wife Paula; two daughters, Marcia Canavan and husband Patrick and Suzanne Dobel; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and friends.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, John and Michael Chimarys; and two sisters, Anna Cimino and Mary Herman.

There will be a visitation 8:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Divine Liturgy follows 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.
