The Friends of Catasauqua Parks next meet 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the municipal complex, 90 Bridge St. The mission of the group is to improve the quality of life for Catasauqua residents through recreational fundraising events to sustain the borough parks.

New volunteers/members are sought. There is no cost or dues to pay to join this group.

Members meet monthly on the third Wednesday of the month.

Reminder: The free summer concert series will feature the band Tavern Tan 7-10 p.m. Aug. 11 at the amphitheater at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.

Join the Catasauqua Community Choir and Community Bell Choir for a summer concert, set for 6 p.m. Aug. 19 at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua.

A goodwill offering will be collected to support the Public Library of Catasauqua, 302 Bridge St.

St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., will hold its Beat the Heat cash bingo Aug. 20 in the parish center. The doors and kitchen will open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m. This includes 15 games, six specials and a jackpot round.

The kitchen will sell your hot favorites, as well as bagged snacks. There is no outside foods or beverages, with the exception of BYOB. Additional game sheets and specials will be available for purchase. Bring your daubers but no hard boards.
