Thomas Evans Jensen, 89, of Bethlehem, died at home on July 28, 2023. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of Cyril Dewey Jensen and Bessie (Evans) Jensen. He was the husband of Virginia “Cinda” (Couch) Jensen for 63 years.
He spent his high school years at Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Lehigh University. After serving in the military, he earned a Master’s Degree from Lehigh.
He was an Ordinance Technical Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Army for two years at the Detroit Arsenal.
He helped found the JKM Instrument Company. He worked for four years at Bethlehem Steel Research Center. He was a criminalist with the Pennsylvania State Police, Bethlehem, for 27 years until he retired in 1999. He then co-taught Criminalistics at Cedar Crest College.
He volunteered for more than 50 years with the PA Wing Civil Air Patrol civilian arm of the U..S Air Force. He raised six generations of German Shepherds.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melinda E. Jensen (Chris Osicki) of Murray, Utah and Holly R. Jensen of Charleston, South Carolina and Lake Lure, North Carolina; and two granddaughters, Hailey and Cassidy Osicki, of Murray, Utah.
He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Jensen Randolph.
