By LOU WHEELAND

Special to The Press

Parkland High School, in partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network, offered a biomedical symposium for students before the end of the school year. The program was designed to introduce students, interested in careers in the medical field or emergency medical services, how a variety of procedures are performed. Displays included how to administer Narcan to an overdose patient, wound suturing, applying a tourniquet, visiting an ambulance and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, among a host of other medical activities.
