Robert J. Hanosek Sr., 85, of Allentown, died peacefully July 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in his home.

He and his wife Nanette (Seagreaves) would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Sept. 12.

Born in East Mauch Chunk, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Wimmer) Hanosek.

A 1955 graduate of Whitehall High School, he attended Kutztown State University.

He was a chief estimator at Lehigh Structural Steel for more than 29 years.

A lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Allentown, he actively volunteered there, counting collections and coordinating the parish festival for many years.

He was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his children and grandchildren and enjoyed playing games and attending sporting events with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Francis; sons Robert Jr. and wife, Eileen, and Anthony and wife, Carol; daughter Kathleen Davidowich.

He was a devoted grandfather to Ryan Hanosek, Mary Kate Messler, Erin Cox, Patrick and Robby Hanosek, Matthew and Jennifer Davidowich, Parker and John Hanosek, and Sean Davidowich; and great-grandfather to Sean, Caden, Kellan, Bradley, Samuel and Luke.

He was predeceased by a son, Christopher, early in his life.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard C. Brensinger 10 a.m. on Aug. 3 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown.

His family will receive guests 9-10 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis Sanctuary Memorial Fund, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown, PA 18102.
