Norma E. Royer, 79, of St. James City, Fla., formerly of Slatington, died peacefully July 15, 2023, at her home after a years long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Laurys Station, she was the daughter of the late Norman D. and Thelma F. (Peters) Meckes.
She and her husband, Ronald L Royer, were married 61 years on June 2.
She spent her early years working for Paris Neck Wear and Stanley Vidmar.
When she had her three children, she dedicated her life to them as a homemaker and helped run the family farm in Slatington.
She also worked at Koenig-Pretempco Inc. when her children were grown.
Her hobbies included hunting and fishing with her husband.
A lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ Church, Laurys Station, she was active for many years as a member of the Rose Croix Chapter 235, Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Ryan L., husband of Sherry W, of Schnecksville, Chad L., husband of Heather L., of Slatington, and Rae, partner of Garett J. Wootton, of North Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Diane T. Laub in 2012.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours at this time.
