We have a snack drawer in our cupboard for granola bars, cookies, chips, etc. One day Ben reached in there for a granola bar and said, “Why is there a banana in here?” It was easy to track the culprit; my husband is the only one who eats bananas. He was surprised as we were. At least it hadn’t been in there too long!

The next week I asked Matt if he wanted anything from the grocery store. He said, “Bananas” to which Ben replied, “Only if you promise not to put them in the snack drawer.”

The copy deadline for the Sept. 6 column will be Aug. 30.
