Township schools open Aug. 28, 29

Welcome to August ... and I can’t believe I’m saying it but that means less than a month until the school buses are rolling again filled with students headed to school.

Have you started back to school shopping yet or are you a last minute shopper? Salisbury Township schools open Aug. 28 for students entering grades kindergarten, fifth and ninth. All students report Aug. 29.

It’s almost time ... and you either love it or hate it ... it’s almost Musikfest time! Aug. 3-13 ... a whole 10 days of music right in Bethlehem. Whether you go for the concerts (both ticketed and free), the food, the other entertainers or simply to fill that mug and walk around, there is something for everyone.

Looking for a fun way to escape the summer heat, air quality days and watch some great kid-approved movies this summer? The AMC Summer Movie Camp continues. With low priced tickets Wednesdays and Saturdays, this is a great way to spend some time with the kids. Opening Aug. 5 and playing through Aug. 9 will be “Shrek 2” and opening Aug. 11 and playing through Aug. 16 will be “SING 2.”

The 2023 Frank Yelinko Memorial Fund Golf Tournament is still looking for golfers. The event will be held Sept. 9 at the Club at Twin Lakes. It will begin 8 a.m. with a shotgun start so plan to arrive by 7 a.m. The cost includes a round of golf, a cart, a gift, lunch, prizes and door prizes. This will be formatted in a four person scramble and is limited to the first 32 paid foursomes. So don’t delay. For additional information, contact Don Kelly at 484-714-8045 or djk525@gmail.com.

Plan ahead now to attend a free concert at Franko Park 4 p.m. Sept. 9. The AM Radio Tribute Band will perform. Bring your blankets, chairs and some snacks and enjoy a night of music in the park.

The Devonshire drop-off site will be open Aug. 3 and 10 and the Franko site will be open Aug. 7, 10 and 12. Hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
