Rita H. Blyler, 88, formerly of Emmaus, died July 25, 2023, in Luther Crest. She was the loving wife of George E. Blyler for 64 years. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late George and Mabel (Iobst) Fisher.

She graduated from Emmaus High School and East Stroudsburg University, where she was a basketball player. She was a gym teacher at Northwestern High School and Emmaus High School and later worked in human resources for Buckeye Pipeline, retiring in 1994.

She was a lifelong active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

She was a member and past president of the Emmaus Lioness Lions Club.

Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Kathy and her husband, Tom Kriz; sons, Scott and his wife, Georgette, Rick and his wife, Kathy, David and his wife, Maem; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Joyce, Violet, Carson.
