Coplay Public Library: Animal program scheduled for Aug. 5 at Coplay Public Library

Christina’s Reptile and Animal Sanctuary will be visiting Coplay Public Library 11 a.m. Aug. 5 with a variety of animals for you to see and pet. The program is free and open to all ages.

Reminder: The library will be closed Aug. 4 for a staff development day.

The last storytime and crafts for the summer will be held 1-2 p.m. Aug. 7.

There’s still time to sign up for the 2023 summer reading program. Register online at coplaypubliclibrary.beanstack.org and fill out the form. You can register as an individual or family.

Once you start reading, you will receive raffle tickets for reaching reading levels and doing activities. You could be the lucky winner of a gift basket.

The last day to log reading and activities is 11 a.m. Aug. 12.

Kids reading awards and the drawing for the gift baskets is planned for 11 a.m. Aug. 19. Register for the event at the library, on our website or by calling the library. You do not need to be present to win.

Have dinner at Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar, 128 Chestnut St., Coplay, 4-9 p.m. Aug. 20 for a library fundraiser. Samuel Owens will donate 10% of your check to the library for dine-in meals only.

Shopping passes for Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends fundraising event are here. The entirety of the pass cost goes to the library.

You will enjoy a discount on your in-store purchases Oct. 18 and get a chance to win a Boscov’s gift card.

You do not have to wait until the fall or spring book sales to donate gently read books to the library. We also accept CDs and DVDs.

For your safety, drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours.

The library’s summer hours are scheduled for 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.

The library’s fall and winter hours will start Aug. 28 and will be 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
