CHS graduates awarded Whitehall Area Chamber scholarships

Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2023 Whitehall Area Chamber scholarship. This scholarship fund was established by the Chamber to provide funding to future business and community leaders in the Whitehall area and is awarded annually to graduating seniors from Catasauqua Area and Whitehall-Coplay school districts.

The 2023 recipients of this $500 scholarship are Alana Henry, Cheyenne Gioielli and Mason Forstoffer, from Catasauqua High School, and Alexis Bundra, Ciara Rogers and Sophia Gallo, from Whitehall High School.

“This year was a record-breaking year in terms of the number of applications received,” said Kylie-Adams Weiss, assistant vice president of affiliated chambers for Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Our scholarship committee and board of directors had their work cut out for them as they carefully selected our six awardees; the students selected are top notch and extremely deserving. We look forward to celebrating their success in their collegiate and future careers and are sure they will do great things in the future.”

Applicants must be planning to further his or her education within six months of graduating from high school and submit a resume including their high school area of study, extracurricular activities or offices held (both in school and/or outside of school), community involvement and any additional awards or honors received. Additionally, applicants must submit two essays.

As these applicants take this honor with them to college, many of them will be going in different directions.

Henry will be attending Cedar Crest College, Gioielli will be attending Wilkes University, Forstoffer will be attending Northampton Community College, Bundra will be attending Kutztown University, Rogers will be attending Villanova University, and Gallo will be attending University of Tampa.

The Chamber, which serves Catasauqua, North Catasauqua and Coplay boroughs and Whitehall Township, hosts several events per year to engage local businesses and community partners, as well as to raise money for its scholarship fund.
