A 22-year-old Virginia man was killed when his 2003 Acura Integra struck the back of a tractor-trailer at 1:45 p.m. July 23 on I-78 West at Mile Marker 47.5, Upper Macungie Township, at the border with Weisenberg Township.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said Evan M. Denison of Berryville, Va. was pronounced dead 2:53 p.m. that afternoon at the scene of the crash.

Buglio said the cause of his death was multiple traumatic injuries due to a motor vehicle collision.

The manner of Denison’s death was ruled an accident, Buglio said.

According to Trooper First Class Nathan T. Branosky, community service officer/public information officer, with State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, there are limited details on the crash.

He told The Press via email, it was a three vehicle crash involving the Acura Integra, a 2017 Kenworth T680 and a 2015 Nissan Rogue.

According to an 511PA Allentown tweet posted 2:43 p.m. that day, all lanes were closed due to the crash.

The lanes were cleared and reopened around 5:07 p.m., according to another 511PA Allentown tweet later that day.
