It’s hard to believe we are already at the end of July.

I’ve been working summer school camps and my students are already starting the back-to-school countdown.

There are a few events in the township starting to fill the calendar, perhaps one might be of interest to you.

H.A.R.P. is heading to Schnecksville on Aug. 1 for a tour of the historic Schneck Log House.

The group will meet 10:45 a.m. at Heidelberg Union Church and then leave for Schnecksville.

After the tour, they will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Pierogies are on the menu for September’s Germansville Fire Company fundraiser.

There’s a variety to choose from including homemade sauerkraut pierogies, homemade potato, cheddar and jalapeno pierogies, as well as potato and cheese pierogies. All come by the dozen.

For dessert, try homemade apple pierogies, also by the dozen.

Orders due by Sept. 2. Take out and cash only.

Pickup is 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 at the rear entrance of the fire company.

Goodwill Fire Company No. 1, Germansville, is sponsoring a golf tournament Oct. 16 at Olde Homestead Golf Club, New Tripoli.

There is a per person fee to participate.
