Richard A. Wieder Sr., 89, of Schnecksville, died July 22, 2023. He and his wife, Annie G. (Slack) Wieder, shared 66 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wilbur E. and Isabella (Radeline) Wieder.

He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he was active with the men’s ministry as well as an elder emeritus.

For 30 years, he was a supervisor at Mack Trucks, and later for nearly 20 years, he worked as a shuttle driver for Lehigh Valley Hospital.

An Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean War.

He served on the board and as a coach for Salisbury Youth Association and volunteered for Special Olympics.

He enjoyed dining out and loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons David A. (Marilou) of Schnecksville, and Richard A. Jr. of Whitehall; daughter Nancy A. Kinsell of Browns Summit, N.C.; grandchildren Sarah (Matt), Andrea (Greg), Matthew (Jess) Mark, Steven (Hannah), Justin, Cory, Sarah (Trevor), and Nathan; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a grandson Zachary; brothers James and Martin; and a sister Frances Fritz.

Services with military honors will be 11 a.m. July 28 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown, 18102. Calling will begin at 10 a.m.
