Marie A. Mondschein, 81, of Whitehall, died July 21, 2023, at home after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Jennie (Kuder) Simon.
Born in Allentown, she grew up in Coopersburg and was a graduate of Southern Lehigh High School.
She was a secretary for 57 years, beginning with her job at Service Tire Truck Centers and most recently at LVR Inc.
After retiring in 2014, she enjoyed sitting outside on her patio, doing yard work and spending time with her grandson, Gabriel, who was the joy of her life.
She was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish for many years, previously volunteering at the Parish school, baking cakes for Parish bake sales and serving food at the monthly breakfast gatherings.
Her survivors include a daughter Debra, wife of Jason Trexler, of Breinigsville; grandson Gabriel; sister Helen Mohl of Emmaus; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John; sister Lillian Erdman; and brother Norman Simon.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Robert J. Potts 10 a.m. July 27 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, PA 18052, where her viewing will begin at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.
