Wildlands Educational programs offered

Wildlands Conservancy will be offering the following educational, community and camp programs Aug. 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 16.

· Wildlands Conservancy - Eco-Friends Day Camp will take place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2, 9 and 16 at Trexler Nature Preserve, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville.

Learn some of the simple changes humans can make to positively impact planet Earth and how to live an eco-friendlier lifestyle.

This program is free, but registration is required.

· Wildlands Conservancy - Cheers to Conservation at Eight Oaks Distillery will be held 4-8 p.m. Aug. 3 at Eight Oaks Farm Distillery, 7189 Route 309, New Tripoli.

Meet the team and learn about the amazing efforts underway to preserve more land where you live.

· Wildlands Conservancy - Get Out for Wellness will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 at Leaser Lake, 7826-7836 Ontelaunee Road, New Tripoli. The park is a good place for birding, especially during migration. Bring your picnic lunch – lots of picnic tables.

This hike is appropriate for all ages, encountering lots of roots and rocks, steep short inclines, narrow trails-but some sections of the park are accessible to all. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

Bring a camera/binoculars for nature and birds.

· Wildlands Conservancy - Pre-K Pathfinders at Trexler Nature Preserve: Into the Creek, 2023 will be held from 10-11 a.m. Aug. 8 at Trexler Nature Preserve, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville.

Pre-K pathfinders is a series of programs for 3-5 year olds and their adults.

Teams meet at the Jordan Creek Ford to study and observe the small aquatic species that call this creek home.

This program is free, but registration is required.

·Stream Team: Volunteer at Trexler Nature Preserve will be held 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 at the preserve.

Join the Stream Team as they maintain vegetative areas along streams (riparian buffers) and help ensure the survival of young, native trees in the forest buffer.

These vital areas improve water quality in local communities, reduce erosion and flooding concerns, and provide habitat for wildlife.

Stream Team is a series of volunteer opportunities on Fridays through September.

This program is free.

Parking for the event is located near Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville.
