VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Musikfest 2023 marks a historic milestone: it is the 40th year where they’ll be shutting down the streets of Bethlehem and turning the town into the Lehigh Valley’s biggest party of the summer. ArtsQuest needs help from business groups, social groups and individuals at information booths, selling soda, keeping the area clean, staging crew, beer pourer and so much more. Together, let’s transform our back deck patio in Bangor into a place of beauty and serenity for our residents to cherish. Bloom for Women, a sanctuary to survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, needs talented individuals with experience to repair or revamp the deck. The gardens at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth have several planter boxes in which residents will plant vegetables and flowers. They are looking for volunteers to assist residents in watering the plants each morning. The minimum age to volunteer is 14 with an adult. Volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Be the reason someone has food to eat –volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Choose your delivery area and pickup location in Lehigh, Northampton and southern Carbon counties. Deliver on your own or with a friend, family member or co-worker. Instructions and training provided; application and background check required. Take pride in knowing your contribution will impact the lives of hundreds of people every day. Miller-Keystone Blood Center is looking for individuals to give out snacks and monitor the donors after they donate blood. Shifts are open at the Cedar Crest and the Bethlehem locations. Celebrating 43 years, the Museum of Indian Culture invites you to participate in PA’s oldest Native American Indian festival. Set up 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 5, 6, 12, 13. The Roasting Ears of Corn festival is Aug. 19 and 20, with many areas of need including food stand, parking lot attendant, children’s activity area, kitchen food prep helpers and clean-up staff. Become a Foster Care & Adoption Ambassador. The committee’s goals are to create, identify and facilitate new ways to reach out to the community and increase awareness about adoption and foster care and about the services provided by The Salvation Army Children’s Services.
