Richard A. Wieder Sr., 89, of Schnecksville, died July 22, 2023. He was the husband of Annie G. (Slack) Wieder, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wilbur E. and Isabella (Radeline) Wieder.

He was a member of Grace U.C.C., Allentown, where he was active with the men’s ministry as well as an Elder Emeritus.

For 30 years, he worked at Mack Trucks as a supervisor and later for nearly 20 years, he worked as a shuttle driver for Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He served on the board and as a coach for Salisbury Youth Association and volunteered for Special Olympics.

He enjoyed dining out and loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; sons, David A. (Marilou), of Schnecksville, Richard A. Jr., of Whitehall; daughter, Nancy A. Kinsell, of Browns Summit, N.C.; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Andrea (Greg), Matthew (Jess), Mark, Steven (Hannah), Justin, Cory, Sarah (Trevor), Nathan; eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Zachary; brothers, James, Martin; sister, Frances Fritz.

Services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. July 28 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown. Calling will begin 10 a.m.
