Lehigh Valley Zoo opens new Habitat Madagascar exhibit

The Lehigh Valley Zoo had a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the opening of the Habitat Madagascar exhibit.

The new exhibit houses mongoose lemurs, red ruffed lemurs and leopard tortoises.

Designed to provide both indoor and outdoor spaces for each species, it also allows for easy viewing by visitors to the zoo.

When necessary, the animals can be housed in behind-the-scenes living space when they require some “quiet” time.

The building is climate controlled so the animals can reside indoors when weather and season requires.
