Frank P. Sarko Jr., 71, of Bethlehem, died July 18, 2023, in his home. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Bertsch) Sarko to whom he was married 48 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Frank P. Sarko Sr., of Bethlehem and the late Elizabeth (Snyder) Sarko.
He was employed at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the rolling and combo mills department for about 28 years. Post his formal retirement, he worked at Kraft Foods, Fogelsville and Northampton Community College in the maintenance department.
He was a social member of the former Old River Road Fire Company (Eastern Salisbury Fire Department) and competed in dart and shuffle board leagues throughout the Lehigh Valley.
He was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury.
A true beach lover, he enjoyed fishing and boating with his wife on Rehoboth Bay, Del. Additionally, he loved to watch the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
He is survived by his wife; father; brother, Wayne T. and his wife, Priscilla; godson, Ryan and his wife, Susanna, of West Virginia; brothers-in-law, Barry E. Bertsch and his wife, Denise, of Fogelsville, Scott R. Bertsch and his wife, Patty, of Schnecksville; many nieces, nephews and extended family; best friends, Susan and Joe Parisi; beloved dogs, Sadie Grace and Mollie Bea. He was predeceased by a brother, John.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury Memorial Fund, 1707 Church Road, Allentown.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown is in charge of arrangements.
