Having received two nominations, cast members from Northampton Area High School’s “Chicago: Teen Edition” joined other student actors, selected from the 28 other participating school productions, onstage to perform the opening and closing numbers during the 2023 Freddy Awards, held May 25 at State Theatre Center for the Arts, 453 Northampton St., Easton.
NAHS junior Karah Abarca, who played Velma Kelly, shined in the spotlight as she was interviewed live by Executive Producer Shelley Brown.
NAHS was nominated for Outstanding Use of Choreography and Musical Staging and Outstanding Production Number for “We Both Reached for the Gun.”
