Catasauqua: National Night Out is Aug. 1
Catasauqua Borough is holding its second annual National Night Out 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.
The event is intended to promote strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safe and more caring place to live and work. Come meet members of the police and fire departments, EMS services and more.
There will be child seat safety inspection information, face painting, chalking, rock painting, music provided by the Catasauqua High School band, raffles and more.

Reminder: The free summer concert series continues with Social Call 7-10 p.m. July 28 at the amphitheater at the municipal park. Get out your lawn chairs and blankets, and settle in for a fun evening.

Catasauqua Garden Club next meets 1 p.m. Aug. 2 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.
The water gardening program will be presented by Glenmar Nursery. Members and guests should enjoy getting their hands wet at this interesting and entertaining presentation. Club members will provide entries for artistic and horticultural judging.
Guests are always welcome.

St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., will hold its Beat the Heat cash bingo Aug. 20 in the parish center. The doors and kitchen will open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.
This event includes 15 games, six specials and a jackpot round. Additional game sheets and specials will be available for purchase.
The kitchen will sell your hot favorites and bagged snacks, so no outside foods or beverages are permitted, with the exception of BYOB.
Bring your daubers but no hard boards.
