LaRue Mae Peifer, 90, of Allentown, died July 20, 2023. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Pearl (Berger) Kleckner. She was the wife of the late Reuben Peifer.

She was an Allen H.S. graduate.

She was a secretary for over 20 years at Durkee Foods until she retired.

She volunteered at Rittersville Fire Co. for many years, where she started the bingo fundraisers.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Allentown. She attended Rosemont Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.

She is survived by three children, Larry Kirk (Sandra) of Bethlehem, Gary Kirk (Amal) of Allentown and Kathy Benjamin of Orefield; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patti Ann Kirk; and a sister, Jean Steele.
