Bethlehem Twp Commissioners gave final approval to the St. Luke’s medical office building during their July 17 meeting. It will be located at the corner of William Penn Highway and Farmersville Road.
The installation of a concrete pad for Calvary Baptist Church of Bethlehem also received final approval.
Resolution R055-23 authorizing an application to the Multimodal Transportation Fund of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development was passed.
Township Manager Doug Bruce explained about the grant, “total estimate is of $495,000. This is a 70 percent grant so we would be asking for $346,500. We asked for a grant last year but did not receive it, so we are going to try again.”
Resolution R056-23 awarding the contract for the pedestrian crossing improvement projects on Hecktown and Oakland roads also passed. The project involves the instillation of a pre-emptive light for emergency vehicles.
According to Board President John J. Merhottein, “We have two bids that came in.” The lowest was approved.
The contract was awarded to T. Schieffer contractors for $271,387.50.
