The Upper Lehigh Lions will stage its annual festival and craft show July 28 and 29 in Neffs Union Church Grove.

Events begin July 28, with refreshment stands opening at 5 p.m.

Enjoy great Lions Club food and an evening outdoors with people in the community.

The Stacy Gabel Band will perform 7-10 p.m. Craft show runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29,

Refreshments will be available 8 a.m. and throughout the day and evening. The Large Flower Heads will entertain 7-10 p.m.

Proceeds from the event are directed to people in need, community betterment, local fire companies and emergency services, charitable causes in the area, vision and eyesight concerns, and endeavors supported by Lions International.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will celebrate Christmas on July 23 with a mission collection of socks, underwear, and T-shirts for all ages.

Donations will be directed to the Lehigh Conference of Churches, Sixth Street Shelter and Allentown Rescue Mission. The 10:30 a.m. worship service will include Christmas carols and messages for the holiday spirit.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will feature music and liturgy from the 1970s at the 9 a.m. worship service July 30.

The 1950s service last month received many favorable comments.

Pastor James Gottwald noted the language was later modified to be more understandable for younger churchgoers as time went on.

Come to St. John’s to see what the worship style, readings and music were like in the 1970s.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, is collecting school supplies for clients of the Northern Lehigh Food Bank and students in the Northern Lehigh School District.

Markers, highlighters, crayons, colored pencils, index cards, binders, notebook paper, children’s scissors, blue ink pens and ear-buds will be appreciated.
