John “Jack” Michael O’Boyle Jr., 83, of East Allen Township, died June 1, 2023, at home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy T. (Tallarico) O’Boyle for more than 60 years.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Dr. John Michael and Mildred (Ford) O’Boyle.

He was a 1957 Central High School and a 1959 Johnson College graduate, both in Scranton.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He served two years of active duty as a VP-23 at the Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine, where he was an air man as an anti-submarine warfare operator/ technician. He was in the Naval Reserves for five years stationed at Willow Grove Naval Air Station.

He was a tool and die maker for more than 40 years for Western Electric/Bell Labs/ Lucent/Agere. He and his late wife were the proprietors of Omega Fashions, Bethlehem and Quakertown.

He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He is survived by two sons, John and wife Sharon and Timothy and wife Linda; two daughters, Elizabeth Cissel and husband John and Rebecca O’Boyle; and three grandchildren, Brenna O’Boyle, Courtney Cissel and Mary Elizabeth Cissel.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Gardner; and an infant brother.

There will be calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service 11 a.m., July 29 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton.
