Donald “Zube” P. Kovach, 85, of Northampton, died July 9, 2023, at Alexandria Manor, Nazareth. He was the husband of Judith A. (Newhard) for 61 years.
Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Paul M. Sr. and Mary (Lelko) Kovach.
He was in the U.S. Navy.
He owned Zube’s Cafe, Coplay, for many years. He was a clerk at the former Conrail Railroad.
He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
He was a member of Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 and assisted with the VFW Honor Guard.
He was a member and bartender at St. Peter and Paul Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marybeth Kovach; a son, David and wife Jennifer; three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Bryton and Gracelyn; a brother, Francis; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Paul M. Jr.
