David J. Buss, 61, of Walnutport, died July 16, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the companion of Stephanie Vallese for 15 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Richard C. and Jeanne C. (Grey) Buss.

He was a Whitehall High School graduate.

He was in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

He was a construction foreman for Serfass Construction, Whitehall, for more than 25 years.

He played guitar in the Forgotten Mountain Boys bluegrass band and in other groups.

In addition to his companion, he is survived by a daughter, Chelsea L. Johnson and husband Chad; a brother, Daniel T. Buss; a sister, Diane C. Rupnik and husband Walt; and a grandson, Shane Orion Johnson.

There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., July 22 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall.
