One moe. time: moe., 7:30 p.m. July 14, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. moe., founded in 1989 at the University of Buffalo, took its name from the song, “Five Guys Named Moe” (1942), by Louis Jordan. The lineup of moe., a jam rock band is: Al Schnier, guitars, vocals; Chuck Garvey, guitars, vocals; Rob Derhak, bass, vocals; Jim Loughlin, percussion, vibes, and Vinnie Amico, drums. Among its 13 studio albums, the band’s first album, “Fatboy,” was released in 1992, and its most recent album, “This Is Not, We Are,” was released in 2020. There are 10 live albums. The band has performed at numerous fundraisers, festivals, including festivals of its own, snoe.down and moe.down. The Diceman cometh: Andrew Dice Clay, Eleanor Kerrigan, 8 p.m. July 15, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Andrew Dice Clay (born Andrew Clay Silverstein in Brooklyn) became famous as “The Diceman” in the 1980s with his brash standup comedy. In 1990, he was the first stand-up comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden for two consecutive nights. He starred in the movie, “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane” (1990) and appeared in the movies, “Blue Jasmine” (2013) and “A Star Is Born” (2018). He released best-selling DVDs (“No Apologies,” “Dice Rules!”) and multi-gold and platinum selling CDs (“The Day The Laughter Died”). He starred in several HBO and Showtime stand-up specials, including “The Diceman Cometh” and “Indestructible.” He had a recurring role on TV’s “Entourage” and “Vinyl.” His autobiography is titled “The Filthy Truth” (2015).
