Jean E. Strauss, 91, of Breinigsville, died on June 16, 2023, just nine days before her 92nd birthday.

She and her husband, John L. Strauss, would have been married 66 years on June 29.

Born in Stony Run, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Alma (Stump) Leibensperger.

A 1949 graduate of Kutztown High School, she served as an organist for several churches in the area from 1954 to 2019 when she retired.

She also gave organ and piano lessons for numerous years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Jane L Kale of Allentown; sons Joel R. Strauss and his wife, Kathy, of Bethlehem, and Jeffrey M. and his wife, Tamara Licata, of Fogelsville; and grandchildren Sean and Zach of Bethlehem.

She was predeceased by her grandson Lewis.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
