Rita M. Medence, 84, of North Catasauqua, died July 5, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late John Medence Jr.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Priscilla C. (Sperlbaum) Eberhart.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.

She worked for more than 35 years as a section eight manager for the Allentown Housing Authority, retiring in 2004.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lioness Club where she was a district 14K associate Lioness chairman. She was an active member of the Cherryville senior center and coordinated bus trips.

She is survived by a son, Mark and wife Sue; a sister, Carolyn and husband Dennis O’Donnell; two granddaughters, Alison Medence and Kelly Baker and husband Kyle; a niece, Tracy Borkenhagen and husband Scott and son Aiden; a niece, Erin Plourde and husband Matthew and daughter Hadley; a niece, Christine Eberhart and family.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert.
