John D. Arndt, 88, of Macungie, died July 1, 2023, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown campus. He was the husband of Gayle L. (Stamm) Arndt for 70 years. Born in Robesonia, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ida (Christman) Arndt.

He worked as a supervisor for Lehigh Valley Dairy and as a supervisor for Stroh’s Brewing Company, retiring in 2000. He later worked part-time for Macungie’s Posey Patch.

He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., Alburtis, where he served on consistory for 17 years and many other committees.

He was a life member of Nimrod Fish and Wildlife Association, Alburtis Rod and Gun Club, Alburtis Lions Club, Alburtis Senior Citizens and a member at a local Groundhog Lodge.

He is survived by his wife; children, John D. Jr. and his wife, Andrea, of Franklin, Tenn., Scott R. and his wife, Rita, of Dumfries, Va., Debra L. and her husband, Lamar Hallman, of Macungie, Michael P., of Norwich, Conn., Sherrie L. and her husband, Alan Carl, of Mertztown; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Raymond; sister, Florence Bailey.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. July 30 in Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 18011. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
