William L. Henry Vo-Tech teacher; Moravian House chaplain

William “Bill” L. Henry, 87, of Bethlehem Township, died June 30, 2023. Born in Jeddo, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (Woodring) Henry. He was the husband of Leah (Kern) Henry for 67 years.

He earned a BA degree and an MA degree from Temple University.

He taught for 38 years at Bethlehem Vo-Tech.

He was a member of Edgeboro Moravian Church. He was on the board of the Bethlehem Area Moravians.

He was chaplain of Moravian House, where the chapel was named after him. He was on the advisory committees of Hazelton Career Center and Carbon County Technical Institute. He taught at ABC Tech School, where the William L. Henry Apprentice and Craft Training Center was named after him. He was an education director for the George Hayden Electric Corporation, Hazelton. He was a past director of education at Eastern Pa. Associated Builders and Contractors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Linda Kunsman (Terry), Sherrie Rohn (Gary), Kathleen Williamson (David), Mary Williamson (Bradley) and Anne Hosterman (Matthew); two brothers, Robert J. Henry Jr. and Richard W. Henry; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
