William “Bill” E. Coleman, 92, of Bethlehem, died in his sleep on July 1, 2023. Born in Denver, Colorado, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Hattie Beattie Coleman. He was the husband of Dorothy “Sally” (Denis) Coleman for 68 years.
He attended Denver East Class HS, class of ’49; and graduated from University of Denver with a degree in chemical engineering. He earned an MBA from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
He worked for Monsanto Chemical Company, Springfield, Massachusetts; and then at J.T. Baker Chemical Company, Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp. and then at Martec Systems of Bethlehem, a company he co-founded.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Post (Paul) of Dublin, Ohio; a son, Brian Douglas (Inkeri) of Bethlehem; three grandsons, Zachary C. Coleman (Molly), Taneli J. Coleman (Kenyon) and Samuel T. Post (Taryn); two great-granddaughters, Lina Coleman and Brynn Coleman; and a sister, Carol C. McOwen of Pasadena, California.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward D. Coleman and Richard F. Coleman Sr.; a daughter, Charlene Coleman Frable; and a son-in-law, Barry V. Frable.
