Good Shepherd Rehabilitation has adaptive fishing, golf events

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation continues its series of free adaptive fishing and golfing events for people with disabilities.

For the second consecutive year, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation is offering the only events of their kind in the Lehigh Valley.

The events are open to those who are 18-years-old and living with a disability. Registration is required.

A team of recreational therapists from Good Shepherd, including Susan Bates, Linda Bollinger and Katrina Pidstawski, designed the sports offerings.

Adaptive fishing sessions include 2-4 p.m. July 11 (rain date: July 14) and Aug. 1 (rain date: Aug. 8), Lehigh Valley Road Runners Club House, 1696 Park Drive, Allentown.

Participants must have a fishing license and are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles. Good Shepherd has a limited amount of adaptive fishing equipment available.

Adaptive golfing sessions include 1-2:30 p.m. July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19 at Allentown Municipal Golf Course, 3400 Tilghman St., Allentown. There are no rain dates.
