The Rev. Richard Landis Bruckart Moravian minister

The Rev. Richard Landis Bruckart, 68, of Bethlehem, died June 22, 2023, in his home after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late James Orlando and Thelma (Landis) Bruckart. He was the husband of Jill (Boettcher) Bruckart for 47 years.

He was a 1972 graduate of Moravian Academy. He graduated in 1979 from Moravian College, where he was a member of the college choir and of the Beta Lambda Chi fraternity. He was a 1982 graduate of the Moravian Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.

He was the pastor for 41 years at various Moravian churches in the Lehigh Valley and Lititz, and in Riverside, New Jersey. He was the administrator at Hope Conference and Renewal Center. He was in denominational leadership on the Moravian Eastern District Executive Board for 12 years.

He was a woodworker and rehabbed two homes and a wooden boat. He made glass stars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rachel Bailey and her husband Joshua and their children Sebastian and Morgan of Lancaster; and Allison Lauderman and her husband Brian and their children Jackson and Matthew of Emmaus; a sister, Karen Naisby and her husband Henry of Coopersburg; and a stepmother, Colleen Bruckart of Moorestown, New Jersey.
