Lower Macungie played three Lehigh Valley Legion games over three days last week and came away with one win and a pair of losses.
The Mustangs beat Southern Lehigh last Wednesday, June 14, before falling to Salisbury and North Parkland Thursday and Friday, respectively.
Tyler Geist pitched a three-hit shut out in his team’s 4-0 win over Southern Lehigh. He struck out nine batters and walked just one over seven innings.
Eight Lower Mac batters had one hit each in the game. Dayne Schmidt had one of the hits while driving in a pair of runs.
In a 7-3 loss to Salisbury the next day, Zachary McEllroy went 2-for-3 as Lower Macungie outhit the Falcons 8-7 in the game.
North Parkland handed the Mustangs a 9-4 setback last Friday. Schmidt went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ian Cederberg pitched two scoreless and hitless innings in the game for Lower Mac.
Through last week’s games, Lower Macungie was 3-5 in LVL and in fifth place in the eight-team league. South Parkland sits atop the standings at 7-0-1. Northern Valley (5-2) is in second place, followed by North Parkland (3-2-1) in the third place.
Lower Mac has eight games remaining in the regular season with the season finale coming June 29 against Allentown at Church Lane.
