Student earns degree
Lauren Sobczak, a 2012 Parkland graduate, earned her Doctor of Education degree in School Administration and Supervision from Liberty University, summa cum laude.
She completed a Master’s of Education degree through Wilson College.
Her undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English and Special Education, along with an Autism Endorsement Certificate, from Kutztown University.
Lauren is currently employed by Annville-Cleona School District.
She served four years as a secondary special education teacher before transitioning to be their ninth grade and Essentials English teacher.
She was fortunate to complete her internship with the administrative staff at Annville-Cleona and has passed her licensure exam.
In addition to teaching, she serves on the district’s Safety, Act 48, Comprehensive Planning, and Tiered Support Committees.
She is also the co-advisor for the middle school quiz bowl, the vape class proctor, and a mentor to new teachers.
Her passion for education was fostered at Parkland.
She acknowledged one of her inspirations, Dr. James Tully, a musical educator at Parkland.
He also celebrated his doctorate from Liberty University at the May graduation.
