Ruth C. Newhard, 95, of Northampton, died June 20, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Leroy S. Newhard.

Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Jr. and Fannie C. Rothrock Greene.

She attended Northampton High School.

She worked as a bus driver for Northampton County Intermediate Unit 20 for 15 years. She then drove for Northampton Area School District for 11 years before retiring in 1999. In her earlier years, she waitressed at Danielsville Democratic Club.

She was a former member of the Northampton Senior Ladies group.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis R. Newhard and wife Juliette of The Villages, Fla., and Dean A. Newhard and wife Lynn of Keeseville, N.Y.; four daughters, Sandra L. and husband John Hock of Orefield, Bonnie L. and husband Michael Almond of Northampton, Pamela L. Fatzinger and companion Jill Fortunato of North Whitehall and Jan L. and husband James Faustner of Bath; a sister, Fannie A. and husband Arthur Schisler of Northampton; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Isabelle M. Musselman; a brother, Russell C. Greene; and a grandson, Jeffrey Rinker.
