Catasauqua Police Department is planning its second annual National Night Out celebration. The event is set for 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.
The event is intended to promote strong police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safe and a more caring place to live and work.
It will feature a number of free activities including police, fire and EMS vehicles on display; child safety seat inspection information; face painting; chalk drawing; rock painting; music provided by the Catasauqua High School band; raffles; and more.
The department is accepting donations for the basket raffle. You can show your support and promote your business by donating a basket, donating items to make a basket or sponsoring a basket with a monetary donation.
To make a monetary donation, checks can be written to Catasauqua Borough, with “NNO” in the memo line. Donations are due by July 25 and can be dropped off at the police department, located at the municipal complex, 90 Bridge St.
Any business that donates to the event will have its logo displayed on a banner at the event.
