Michael R. Herring, 63, of Macungie, died June 21, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, surrounded by his family. He was a son of Ruby (Rupp) Herring and the late Donald Herring.

He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1978 and attended Penn State.

He worked as a chemical operator for Avantor for 19 years.

He was a member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie.

He was a very generous individual and loved to donate to many causes and organizations.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle and her husband, Eric McAuley; grandson, Bryce McAuley; brothers, Terry and his wife, Martha, Craig and his wife, Cindy; sister, Jennifer; many nieces, nephews and cousins; former partner, Deanna Martinez and stepchildren, Jodie Rotondo, Anthony Martinez. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Celeste Martinez.

Memorial contributions may be made to his grandson Bryce McAuley at KeyBank in honor of Michael.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. June 30 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus. Viewing will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the service.
