CHS graduate achieves rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 94

An Eagle Court of Honor ceremony was held June 11 at Community Fire Company No. 1, 4550 Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville, for Lawson Szerencits, a member of Boy Scout Troop 94, Catasauqua.

Szerencits completed 52 merit badges on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout. During his tenure as a Scout, he held many positions of leadership, including den chief, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader and junior assistant Scoutmaster.

A 2022 graduate of Catasauqua High School, Szerencits never missed a day of school in his school career.

His passion is sprint car racing, and his Eagle project was building a handicap ramp at Keystone Quarter Midget Raceway in Schnecksville.
