Edward M. Bolcar Sr., 94, of Bethlehem, died June 19, 2023, at his daughter’s residence. Born in Cementon, he was a son of the Michael and Mary (Nederostek) Bolcar. He was the husband of Irene V. (Kereczman) Bolcar for 73 years.
He was in the 28th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, during the Korean War.
He was an overhead crane operator for Bethlehem Fabricators for more than 28 years. He then worked in facility services for Moravian College for more than 29 years until he retired. He was awarded the 1997 Employee of the Year at Moravian College.
He was a member and a custodian with the Bethlehem Panthers AA. He was a member of the National Sokols and a former member of the Tri-Boro Sportsman Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Veronica E. (Bolcar) Pavelko of Bethlehem Township; two brothers, Joseph (Marie) Bolcar of Bethlehem and Thomas (Dorothy) Bolcar of Bath; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jen Fitzko) Stofanak and Alexandra Bolcar.
He was predeceased by a son, Edward “Eddie” M. Jr.; a brother, Michael; and a son-in-law, Paul Pavelko.
