The Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem held its annual golf tournament June 12. The 44th annual event was held at a new location, the Riverview Country Club. One of two major fundraisers for the Club, proceeds are used to support daily homework assistance, meals and snacks, programming, mentoring and staff. Ninety-seven golfers participated in the tournament, which was followed by a luncheon.
“I am so grateful on a day like today, that people get here to support great futures in Bethlehem,” said chief executive officer Winston Alozie, as participants arrived to register and partake in breakfast before hitting the links.
Tournament winners were: first flight, Alex Figueroa, Luke Lanzetta-Vargo, Matthew Lanzetta-Vargo and Frank Vargo; second flight, Paul Coleman, John Malloy, Greg Martin and Larry Shea; third flight, Michael Alfieris, Gerald Broniec, Frank Donnangelo and Nick Mesisca; longest drive, Sandy McEllroy and Judd Walter; closest to pin, Greg Martin; and pot of gold, Frankie West.
