During the May 1 Bath Borough Council meeting, the community and economic development committee announced Bath’s Old Home Week is set for Aug. 10-13. To assist with the weeklong celebration, contact the borough office.
The environmental steering committee discussed exploring the options for residents who want to recycle household items, newspaper and cardboard. The current sanitation contract excludes recycling.
The recent cleanup of the Monocacy Creek was successful, according to the Monocacy Creek liaison. There are plans to plant trees at select locations of the stream to firm up its banks, and another creek cleanup is potentially planned for September.
Pennsylvania State Police is continuing its investigation of the February discharge of a firearm in the borough, Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito said. The incident stimulated a series of discussions about policing in Bath.
There was a council discussion with the borough solicitor about the MS4 program regarding funding the mandate, the potential of a utility fee per household and other planning concerns. Costs may be as high as $500,000.
Council passed Resolution 2023-004 that adopted the 2023 fee schedule for the borough.
Council passed Ordinance 2023-728 that amends Chapter 625 regarding vehicles and traffic; amending uniform traffic regulations; repealing parking prohibitions between 2-6 a.m.; revising parking time limited at specific locations; and revising the Main Street two-hour parking.
