Mary A. Romanic, 57, of Whitehall, died June 16, 2023, at Devon House Senior Living, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Michael D. Romanic for 38 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Forkolitz) Gigler.

She was a 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

She was a sewing machine operator at the former Bru-Mar, Allentown, for more than 20 years. She was a preschool teacher’s aide at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School for 12 years until she retired in 2000.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, where she was a member of the senior citizens club.

She was a member of the BVM Young at Heart club, Northampton.

She is survived by five children, Patricia A. and husband Dr. Kerry D. Miller of Macungie, Susan M. and husband James E. Steiner of Allentown, Michael J. of Trexlertown, Paul S. and wife Judy of Coopersburg and Dr. Anne Romanic Arnold and husband Dr. William Arnold of Jenkintown; a son-in-law, Jack A. Griffin of Northampton; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Margaret Griffin.

There will be a calling hour 9-10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., June 22 at the church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown, 18102.
