Whitehall Manor’s summer picnic, held June 7 at the 1177 Sixth St. senior living facility, featured a performance by The Musical Notations, an a cappella choir ensemble of residents.
Nya Cruz, director of activities, led in choreographing and coordinating the recent concert entertaining Manor residents and their family and friends.
Nine singers comprise the ensemble. Soloists were Joe Biringer, Anne McClelland, Jim Miller and Joann Sutton-Lynch. Joan Copio, June Grande, Mildred Hanna, Holly Spengler and Eleanor Whitby make up the rest of the chorus.
They sang hit songs like “Mr. Sandman” by the Chordettes, “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin, “Over the Rainbow” by Judy Garland and “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters, to name a few.
Abe and Nemo Atiyeh, Whitehall Manor owners, were on hand to greet the attendees and enjoy The Musical Notations performance.
The picnic was originally scheduled to be held outside on the Whitehall Manor grounds, but because of the smoke from the wildfires in Canada, the event was moved inside.
There was a large amount of picnic food and desserts for the numerous attendees to enjoy, topped by an even larger sense of fellowship, fun and goodwill.
