The Third Annual Jess Fin Fest will take place Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Catasauqua Park, 701 Grove St.

Jess Fin Fest is a volleyball and cornhole tournament.

Jess Finlayson was an 8th grade math teacher and the Northampton girls volleyball varsity coach. She graduated from Emmaus in 2010 and Lebanon Valley College in 2014. She played in many adult volleyball leagues and tournaments throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Jess lost her 2 ½ year battle to brain cancer in January 2021 at the age of 28.

To honor Jess, and the sport she loved, there will be an adult volleyball tournament (competitive and social) and adult social cornhole tournament on 22 July.

Proceeds go to the Jess Fin Foundation, which exists to raise funds for brain tumor research, help others locally who have been diagnosed with brain cancer and provide support to the Jess Finlayson Memorial Scholarship fund (providing scholarships to Northampton senior volleyball players each year).

The Jess Fin Fest will have volleyball and cornhole, a basket raffle, T-shirts, DJ Johnzy, music, food/drinks/beer and the Inside Scoop Ice Cream Truck.
