Emmaus holds annual Flag Day program

The Emmaus Rotary Club sponsored the annual Emmaus Flag Day program June 14 at Emmaus Community Park. The annual program features poetry and essays by East Penn School District fifth and eighth grade students on the theme “What the American Flag means to me,” musical performances and guest speakers. Fifth and eighth grade students are recognized for poetry and essays on the theme “What the American Flag means to me” at the annual program. Awardees for this year's program include: from left, Miles Pospischil, a student at Shoemaker Elementary School in Mrs. Alfano's class, who earned third place; Adriana Antinucci, a student at Shoemaker Elementary School in Mrs. Miksits' class, earned first place; Abigail Perez, a student at Lower Macungie Middle School in Mr. Bosse's class, earned third place; Benjamin Royal, a student at Lower Macungie Middle School in Mrs. Hanna's class, who earned second place and Charlotte Patterson, a student at St. Ann's School, in Mrs. Leitzel's class, who earned first place. Abigail Reichart, a student at Willow Lane Elementary School in Mrs. Sosnovik's class, who earned second place for poetry, was unable to attend the ceremony.
