EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I graduated from Emmaus High School June 11.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents are Greg and Stephanie, I have two older sisters, Madison and Morgan and a chocolate lab named Sadie.

Q. What was your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject was accounting because it helps businesses make critical financial decisions by collecting and tracking a company’s finances.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I received the varsity soccer Tommy Gray Award which represents Spirit, Heart and Perseverance. I was a member of National Honor Society and I received honor roll all of my senior year.

Q. Were you involved in any extracurricular activities? How did being involved in these organizations impact your high school experience?

A. I was a member of the varsity soccer team, NHS, Pediatric Cancer Club, Latin Club, Kid to Kid and I was also a Hornet Ambassador. I believe each and every one of these extracurricular activities made me the student I am today. It gave me the tools to become a better leader and have a more open and creative mindset.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I would say my biggest challenge was balance – being a student athlete with the expectation to succeed in the academic area as well. On top of that, having a fun and social senior year with friends was a goal I wanted to fulfill. I had to make sure my priorities were where they needed to be in order to accomplish everything I wanted.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to attend West Chester University and major in accounting where I will be a part of the Honors College.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I would say I admire my parents the most, just for the reason they are my biggest supporters. They have helped my sisters and me reach all of our goals, they always challenge us to do our very best because they see what potential we have even if we don’t always see it in ourselves.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. To my teachers I would like to be remembered as a hardworking student. As to my peers, I would like them to remember me as someone who was dependable, trustworthy and always down for a funny joke.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. A piece of advice I would give my peers is to not be afraid to get involved. Do the thing you aren’t 100% comfortable doing, break out of your shell a little. I know for me it created new friendships and achievements I didn’t know were possible.
